Integrative Bodywork: Everything that happens to us in life produces a physiological response within our bodies, unleashing a slurry of hormones and chemicals, which we experience as sensation and emotion.  If left unprocessed, these emotional by-products can accumulate in our bodies, manifesting in pain, soreness, and ultimately, dis-ease. Bodywork, healing human touch, can help flush our bodies of these toxins, relieving us of the stress of accumulated past experiences, allowing energy to flow freely and restoring balance to our bodies so that we can heal ourselves and more fully experience the present moment.  It is from this foundational belief that Jessica does bodywork, fusing a variety of modalities including Shiatsu, Pain and Injury Treatment, Deep Tissue and Polarity.  Add the most important element, love, to the mix and you get a profound and unique session that is different every time.

Shiatsu is an Asian bodywork modality based on the Five Element Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine which views pain as a direct result of stagnant energy.  Relaxed body weight applied along the twelve meridians, or channels of flow, clears congestion and invigorates depleted areas.  Deep stretches and joint mobilization wring out toxins and stagnation, balancing these elemental energy flows, leaving you refreshed and invigorated.  It is a clothes-on modality typically performed on a padded floor mat, though it can be adapted to table work. In addition to the physical release, people have also reported more balanced emotions and a more general sense of calm.  As one of her clients said, "That wasn't a massage. That was an experience."

Rolfing: Rolfing is a form of hands-on manipulation and movement education developed by Ida P. Rolf over 50 years ago, Rolfing Structural Integration works on the connective tissue (fascia) to release, realign and balance the whole body. Rolfing Structural Integration enhances your posture and freedom of movement. It is not painful, and may bring dramatic results, including: injury recovery, pain reduction, stress relief, increased flexibility, headache relief, and better balance. Rolfing Structural Integration is also an excellent foundation for and complement to yoga, pilates and other personal wellness practices.
